I'm fundraising for...
32 years ago, long before I met my husband Justin, he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Over the course of five years, Justin was a regular patient at The Royal Children's Hospital and his family were welcomed with open arms to Ronald McDonald House in Parkville. This period in Justin's life takes up a large chapter and therefore is forever in our thoughts. This year we spent some time back at Ronald McDonald House to reconnect with staff that Justin knew from this time and to see the facilities now and how they have changed and the importance of fundraising. Not to mention that during my 18 years as a teacher, families from our community have also had to make Ronald McDonald House a home away from home. Therefore, I have decided to pull on the exercise gear and take part in Justin's spin challenge team - it is not everyday that I sign up for physical challenges - the catch is, our team has to raise $3000 to actually be eligible for a team and so if I raise $1000 personally, I will take to the bike and join our team in riding for 10 hours (as a team). I promise to keep the lycra to a minimum, but hoping that all of my people will get behind this fantastic cause and I will appreciate each and every dollar.
