Meals from the Heart

Come into a Ronald McDonald House
to make a meal for our families.

Our Meals from the Heart Program is a great initiative which not only provides our families with delicious nutritious meals and a night off from dinner preparation, but it is also a fantastic employee engagement activity. Supporting the families of sick kids at Ronald McDonald House is an amazing and unforgettable team-building experience that demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to community investment, encourages staff engagement and boosts morale.

We were so fortunate to help families in need whilst also bonding as a team. The sense of pride we had was overwhelming and taking the time out of our busy schedules was not only rewarding but brought us closer together as a team.

  • What: Your team will work together to come up with a menu and purchase the fresh ingredients (you can bring these on the day or have them delivered directly to the house).
  • You will then visit the House to prepare the meal and sit down and enjoy dinner with the families staying with us.
  • When: Tuesday and Thursday evenings with a maximum of 6 - 10 participants (Monash House is strictly limited to 6 participants)
  • Time: 3:30- 8:00pm
  • Cost:
    Parkville:
    $1100 – cooking for approx. 100 people
  • North Fitzroy: $800cooking for approx. 70 people
  • Monash House: $500 – cooking for approx. 30 people
  • Hobart: $300 – cooking for approx. 25 people
+ the cost of your groceries
  • What do you cook?: Get creative and create your own menu or be inspired by our crowd favorites that are always loved in our houses.

We are a not-for-profit organisation that relies solely on donations and community support. As financial support is vital for us to continue to provide this support, a donation is required to secure your spot in our group volunteering program.

Your generous donation helps cover the cost of running this program; including equipment upkeep, volunteer training, staffing, and of course keeping our doors open to more families than ever before.

BEING COVID SAFE

Our main priority is to always keep our families and yourselves safe and healthy. This means we must ensure we follow some guidelines as we welcome guests to our houses.

  • All volunteers must wear a mask indoors at all times.
  • Every participant must complete Group Volunteering form.
  • Please do not visit the House if unwell.

There are a few logistics involved, but for a small donation, you can change lives in one night!
